Rava Ladoo time

A lazy Sunday , lovely weather , a nice room that overlooks the hill , a bed that is extremely cosy and an exam on the next day !!!!!
What a Sunday it has been.......The highlight of day is of course the food that lifted my spirits really high, courtesy the Ramachandran family from Bangalore. Lovely vegan cookies courtesy Radha , Maa ladoos/rava ladoos courtesy aunty and Idlies from the city courtesy Ramya, what happiness :)
Since I turned Vegan , there have been very few sweets that I have been able to eat. Some of them are coconut burfi , jalebi at some places , agre ka peta , sweet pongal etc. Most of these dishes are made by mummy to ensure they are vegan!!
Maa ladoo alias rava ladoo is a simple dish that is made with mildly roasted rava with sugar , powdered cardamom, cashew nut pieces and some raisins. Ghee is what brings all of this together, however this can be easily replaced by dalda that is made from vegetable fat.
This dish can be stored for a week or two and happens to be one of my all time favourites. A big thank you to all those who made this possible on this hill :) .

Stores like Chitale Bandhu in Pune have nice peta and burfi , this store in Aundh called Kadai dishes out yummy Jalebi as well. By far the best idlies that I have had in Pune are from a place called Steamy Affair on JM road. Will keep the reviews coming.
